Well said by Kapil Dev. I think he only has the guts to say so in public. Why should non-performing cricketers be beared by the team management??? Just to keep a certain left-hander from Kolkata out of the team!!!
Kapil is right to say that only Players in good form should be selected for Test matches and One Dayers. Other Seniors in the team can make observations and commentries alongwith the dedicated people meant for that. This also will help improve the out of form players.
Kapil the simple man he is,believes all the decisions of selection committee are made on merits? We have witnessed more than once double standerds of selection as well as approach of the board towards some indian players.I am no great fan of saurav but i admire his cricketing skills,in opinion of many he did commit certain mistakes, who does not?Is chappel or dravid or sachin or modern avtar More free from this vice.Than why diffrent treatments. Only god knows.Ican only pray let these people do not suffer heavily for what the sins they are doing free hand.
They should be, infact they should have been already! Rules and the privileges are one and its's same for everybody and as such there is no dearth of talented boys today. It won't cost us any dearer
If Sehwag is made to 'warm the bench' for few matches, he may correct himself. As with Kaif, its enough and better stop looking at him with hopes any more. He won't be able to deliver big knocks and on time.
Kapil is right... Sehwag and Kaif should immediately be dropped and asked to prove their metal in the domestic cricket. If Ganguly can be asked to do that in whatever circumstances, these people just don,t deserve to be there as we look at their performance along with Sachin Tendulkar. He too should be rested so that he can regain his confidence. Sachin looks afraid and so does Sehwag as we see nowadays they close their eyes while facing the ball. Ganguly should be asked to come back but he should quit cricket immediately for his image.
Hello Kapil ji, i have great respect for your and your contribution to the indian criket but i feel that before making such comments (as you said about dropping kaif and sehwag out) look into the past and try to remember those days when you yourself were being dragged with the team only to reach that highest-wickets mark.
Performance should be appreciated. Its not about Ganguly performs or Sehwag fails. Its about a team as a whole, an enterprising body which performs with every member doing something for the team rather than playing for himself & standing at the crease as if it was a test match. I'd prefer an Australian system or any other qualified approach to select eligible players rather than chipping in players with maximum crowd pulling, ticket selling ability & zero-capability on ground & then shamelessly saying, "It was one of those days where your luck isnt with you". Its simple..you dont perform you find yourself out of the team, you perform (even if not jubiliantly), you'll be cheered for & given lots of awards. Abhishek Sharma, Lajpat Nagar-2 New Delhi

This is double standard Sharam ji,
One for Ganguly & another for Shewag & Kaif.
It is worse than cheating against the best captain of India.
This is destroying the basic fabric of india. All those who stand with team India in difficult time are treated so shabbily like ganguly, Kapil and Dhanraj pillay.
