Ganguly

John Wright has done his best for the Indian Team. I don"t see any reason why Saurav has to continue as a Player in our Team leave alone the Captain, India booasts of best manpower in the world, why can't we train the young chaps. It is a total fiasco for the Indian Team in the Recent Series. Ganguly neither performed well in Test matches nor in One day series. His total score hardly crossed the Double digit figure. It is better for him to retire and pave way for the Talented Players

Wright on his right things

At the outset we indians congratulate your sir for the splendid work you did for the game in inda and briught the indian team to the fore along with many great teams and infused element of fighting qualities to the players and took the team to as many finals as possible by sheer guidance and endurance.India fared better during your tenure deservedly and took the cricket wold by shock after the 1983 triumph that the indian team is hard to beat, though beatably.Even the team had given nightmarish exp to many big teams ans sometimes humbled them.Job well done sir.We miss you sir.Hope you will cherish the moments of your close assn with the team as well as indian population.Hope you have no regrets except the failures the team handedout to you at the fag end of your tenure. We are sorry for it as we all wished a farewell on a winning note and that too in high spirits.Things went wrong due to unknown reasons but with one known fact that the captain did his level best(not considering the pride of the nation in mind)to take the game to rock bottom level and to the verge of collapse & himiliation.Even the seniors betrayed you. Please dont cary these in your heart but think of finer moments.

John's adieu
by Murali Mohan on Apr 23, 2005 06:28 AM

What a sad moment for all those cricket enthusiasts knowing that john is relinquishing his post of Indian coach.. The man himself is pretty humble and has always assumed a low profile even after bringing a sea change in the team's attitude and an allround improvement.

He upped the morale of the team which consisted of some brilliant performers yet pedestrian as a team. He infused a feeling of self-belief and fighting spirit in the team that transformed to victors from pretenders.. Surely he has been an unsung hero with all the accolades grabbed by Ganguly and his boys..A test series rubber would have been a great farewell gift to John but the boys were too courteous to Inzy & company.. Nevertheless the contribution to Team-India by John Wright will surely go down as an unparalled endeavor in the history of Indian cricket.

Wright was the RIGHT MAN for the right country

John..What you have done for the India is irreplacable. India will always salute you as the best coach ever for the Indian cricket team.. You turned over-rated underachievers to under-rated over-achievers..I can understand that it would have been a fitting farewell for you if we could have wrapped up the Pakistan series but who knows, the team might have left it till the time you return back as the coach!! But you turned the Indian team into the most entertaining team in the world..I guess people from the entire cricketing fraternity will agree that the prefer a match involving India rather than Australia because the Aussies seem to programmed robots on field, which makes their game monotonous and boring while an Indian match is as entertaining as a good Bollywood movie..
Thank you so much for your invaluable contribution to India. We will miss you.
May God Bless You..And best wishes to you and your family for the future..

JOHN..U R THE BEST!!
Tarun

Thank U Mr. Wright
by Nishank on Apr 23, 2005 12:10 AM

The 1 story that I will always remember, is that of Mr.Wright introducing hiself as, John Wright, Indian Cricket team member. That, in one sentence described the very essence of John Wright. He was never an outsider to the team, always one of the guys. To list his contributions to the Indian team, and how he changed Indian criket in attitude and performance, is tantamount to reinventing the wheel.
All, i can say is, Thank u Mr. Wright.. u can be proud of what u did to Team India.
