The article specifically mentions the instances AGAINST India only. How does Shahid Afridi with a performance against Sri Lanka fit in to the scenerio ? You should have read the article completely and carefully before criticising the author.
The history of 2nd. ODI between India & pakistan was an abject surrender by Indians, especially by Indian Captain, Sourav to pakistanis. Many a times, it was seen that Sourav is guided by his typical obstinate feelings. In fact, he lacks dynamism & improvisation, which mostly require to defeat a strong team like Pakistan.
In this match, he should have brought Ashish in place of Zaheer in the very 7th. over and noticing that Power was bowling so well, he should have given the chance to complete his quota of 10 overs!
Moreover, Sourav, when he was not at his best, which was very much evident during his batting, should have skipped the match or should come at No.6 position! Coming at No.4, he simply has wasted so many balls!
Hats off to young Power! He has shown the positive aggresiveness to clinch this sort of match. Had anyone there in the middle during the fag end to lend some support to Power, we would have won the match!
These cricketing statistics does not mean anything to me but I guess thats a bread and butter for rediff (as all their we pages contain just cricket and only cricket) . Keeping this in mind statement - 78.12 50 11 1 64 I V A Richards West Indies Berbice 29 Mar 03 needs to corrected because as per my understanding Richards retired in early 90s so where is the question of he playing in 2003.
