BCCI
by amit shesh on Apr 26, 2003 04:32 AM

I think it is time the BCCI became a little more transparent. They seem to be all the wrong things!

Firstly they are highly political in nature and freely play around with players' future. They waste huge amounts of money on mobiles and luxuries and even unnecessarily exhorbitant prices, but refuse such critical things to the team!

May they remember that they exist because of the team and not vice versa.

How low can BCCI get?
by Praveen Gopinath on Apr 26, 2003 03:49 AM

Being the richest CB, after seeing astounding performances by these two if BCCI cannot increase their salary, it is taking Indian team towards disaster. This is how everything collapses. We have seen and we will see. All the lunatics in the top position should be flushed out and only then can there be any hope for the team.

Will things ever change?
by Ved Sharma on Apr 26, 2003 03:32 AM

Ajit Wadekar's attitude says it all. Will they ever learn? Its not your father's sport any more. Times are changing. Sports these days is a science, there is a definate need for professional trainer's and coaches in all aspects. India should have 4 to 5 caoches: 1 each for batting, pace and spin bowling, fielding and strategy. The Cricket board continues to be cheap!. To be world class athletes you need world class facilities, trainers and sport's doctor's. The current team of coaches and trainers have done an amazing job!!. The are worth very penny and more. $40000/50000 is peanuts.

penny wise pound foolish
by amit on Apr 26, 2003 02:07 AM

this is a typical case of being penny wise pound foolish. even if you ignore all other aspects and just approach this from a business perspective, i would have thought that the BCCI honchos had some business brains. but i guess this will remain a wish. as usual BCCI sucks and again proves its incapability to administer the game.

beauracracy strikes again
by King on Apr 26, 2003 02:06 AM

maybe the cell phone bills should be lowered and the money routes to them. just hope these two members of the Indian team decide to continue their tenure. the players get bonus money for their good showing. the physio and trainer should be somehow rewarded too.

Living on the edge?
by Biswajit. on Apr 26, 2003 01:57 AM

Well, do they have someone else of equal calibre.?
Then itz ok. Else, these guyz should be given an extension. The team wants them. Then whats the problem.?
BTW, the news article should have explored options of who could replace them just like they did for the Coach.

Dalmia , please do not be political
by amit on Apr 26, 2003 01:54 AM

This is Dalmia's way of saying, we do not want you. Dalmia is a good manager, he should not let a good physio or a coach slip away just because they were hired by the previous management.
