why blame the team?
by umadevi pradeep on Mar 22, 2007 08:11 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

why blame the team...it is just 11 guys and they are all HUMAN......most definitely they can fail...The blame must go solely and wholly to the sports policies and politics of our country.....where the one and only resource we have in plenty i.e. manpower (billions of it) is totally ignored. In such a hugely populated country we cant find 11 guys who can play good cricket under pressure????? We are lazy to find better ones...so we simply pour crores and crores into the same players and ask them to play even when they are way past their prime and then the whole country expects them to do well!!!!!!pretty stupid blaming them guys what u need to do is beat the hell out of Pawar and the others responsible for this sorry mess.

Good point.

I would even go further and say, why should we have this crazy obsession for cricket, a game played by not even 20 nations. Let us support other sports, i.e. go and watch soccer, hockey, volleyball, etc on the grounds, become members of soccer and hockey clubs, extend patronage to these other sports.

Sports ain't Cricket...

Amen

By merely throwing money we will never get good sportsmen. We are academically oriented and do not
have a good sports loving public. We prefer to encourage children to reach IIT's and IIM's and then play the game of cricket with a tennis ball
at parks for recreation and we expect our team to be world champions.

Now, thats asking too much.

There is nothing as 'the best' player. Every player goes through good/bad patches, and during his bad patch 'somebody' will be better than him.

Instead of playing the blame game, let's have faith in the current team and wish them best of the luck.
