CHANGE WORLD CUP LEAGUE MATCHES STRUCTURE
by sk suri on Mar 22, 2007 09:01 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

CRICKET IS A GAME OF PROFICIENCY/SKILL/FORM & CHANCE.NOT REFERING TO WC 2007, IN FUTURE, EVERY TEAM, AT LEAGUE STAGE, MUST/SHOULD PLAY A REVERSE MATCH WITH EACH OPPONENT TO DECIDE THE

CONSISTANT TEAM.STALWARTS LIKE PAK/INDIA /WI /SRILANKA etc.KNOW HOW TO FIGHT BACK. THEY SHOULD NOT BE MADE TO WAIT FOR 4 YEARS TO AVOID A FLUKE LOSS.

ALSO/ALTERNATIVELY, THE LAST WC FINNALISTS,

MUST BE GIVEN A BIRTH IN SUPER 8/9/10 ROUND, NEXT WC, SO THAT THEY will NOT BE VICTIMS DUE TO CHANCE ELEMENT.

Suri Sahab,

Totally agreed with you. Hundred percent in favour of what you said. ICC is trying make money by including more teams and at the same time changing format every year thinking that test playing team will beat minnows easily.

I totally agree that early exit of Pak doesn't reflect true picture of world cup. Same thing happened in last world cup also when Zim and Kenya reached super 6.

Exactly!!!! The whole format is bullshit. It kills the fun and just that. Reverse matches r the need of the hour. If ICC can spend time and energy on some minnows, why can't they find time to conduct reverse matches? There is no fun in this world cup!!

Very humbly want to point out Col. Suri that typing in caps is considered akin to shouting in cyber world.

Other than that, I agree with your ideas but I feel that somehow these reverses to the so called 'big teams' is the main thing which is keeping this game interesting dur to the unpredictability attached to it. If the consistent team is allowed to win by getting more chances to play, team like Australia wil maintain its monotony and then I doubt whether the level f public interest will remain that high.

Regard
