I am indian living in Ireland for last 6 years. It is a very small country, even smaller than some states in India. Football and rugby are big sports apart from some local sports. Majority of people don't know about cricket and usually make fun of the game. They have not more than 10 stadium and may be less than 5000 people who play. These guys do full-time job and play cricket on weekends and during summer. The current irish team includes a postman, storeman, sales rep, delivery driver, and a couple of university students.
The fact is - "Ireland has qualified for next round".
The facilities and money that indian players get is million times more than the irish players. I feel ashamed as India is on brink of being thrown out of world cup. I pray that India should win else I won't be able to say proudly to irish colleagues (which I have been saying since last 6 years) - India is good in cricket. If india lose, I'll have to hide somewhere or face their slagging till next world cup.

Actually, its a matter of hard work and passion. TEAM INDIA plays for money.If you dont have a job in India and somehow bribe your way into the Indian Team then you earn so much that no job can pay as good. Once in the Team, you know you wont last there as you are not hardworking, you give a good performance and manage a job lets say get employed in Bank of Baroda. Now if you lose your place in the team, still you have a job in the bank. Your future is secured.If you dont perform at all, and dont get a Job at least you can become a commentator and start commenting on what you are not expert at. Thats Indian Cricket.

Ravi Mnoey is important for any one. tell me if you are working will you work for charity? No way we all work for money and to be frank tell me till now how many times you have worked at par to what you earn every month? Has your performance excelled everytime? did you get Exceeds exceptions in your performance appraisal everytime? didn't your jouniors/subordinates outscored you occasionally? Similarly cricketers cannot performt o his best always, ther are bad patches. And to be a commentator is not any easy job, try it, to know it.

Well I or people around me leaving a select few do perform at par always. We exceed expectations some times.But we were never appraised below expectations. Whereas if you see the Indian Team's records, They have performed below expectations most of the times at par sometimes and exceeded expectations few times.1983 Was one of those few times.Compare the records with the nations like Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Sri Lanka (Last Ten Years as they were like minnows before), England etc. See the no of Matches Won, Lost and Drawn against the above nations, not all.Then you will know what I mean to Say.
I too am an ardent cricket fan of India and I dont mind losing. But they way this team loses games, it shows the lack of fighting spirit and low morale. Its easy for the opponent to put them under pressure as they lose heart easily. Tell me if I am wrong.

Well Ashutosh, No Need to feel ashamed. To win or to lose is a part and parcel of this game irrespective of the opponents. India is definitely a good team and will be good, even if it doesnot makes thru S8. so if god forbids india lose today, don't hide your face, come out boldly and say next time we will make it. Be a true sports man

Well u all it is right that Indian Cricket team is playing only for Money. And i have a bad thing 4 the indians in the match with Bangladesh. That match was fixed. So dont worry Indains also fixed the match between Sri Lanka.
