Why the Karnataka poll is critical
by Suresh Gowda on May 06, 2008 09:49 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Last time BSP contested around 100 seats and got 1.6 percent votes.
The congress seats went down from 145 to 65.

This time BSP is contesting all 224 seats.
If BSP gets 3 percent votes, Congress will be hard pressed to maintain its 65 seats.

If it gets 4 percent Congress will be hard pressed to reach 50.

If it gets 5 percent congress will be reduced to all time low of 30. Even below 35 it registered in 1994.

There was an old kannada song went something like this. (Vedic Philosopher sang. This world is Maya).
Vedanti Helidanu . Eee Prapancha Maye.

After this election probably Kharge, Krishna, Dharam Singh will be singing the same song. They will be remembering Mayavati of BSP.

Ur right.

Basically BJP is trying to get all COMMUNAL votes from Lingayat, Vokkaliga and Brahmins.

Secular votes will be divided between Congress, JDS, SP, BSP.

BJP will win with COMMUNAL votes.
