If you disagree with what we say go to the wiki site and change the info. but you have to convince them that your version is the truth.

It was originally a temple containing idols of many dieties including some Hindu dieties and planetary gods like shani etc.

That stone is supposedly a shiv linga which the prophet of islam tried to break but that resulted in terrible consequences and hence ended up worshipping it.

Yes the prophet also believed that kissing and worshipping that stone gave him miraculous powers.Even today people pray to that stone but are not allowed to touch it.

I tell u my story-
i was an athesist during my visit to Kedarnath 10 yrs back-I just went to enjoy nature with my family. When I looked at the Linga of Kedarnath,a natural formation, I felt i touch it-Believe it or not, i touched the linga with my right hand and the pain(created by horse travel in climbing from gaurikund) in it vanished. The other hand remained painful.I realised what spiritual power can do after that-I believe in Almighty.i request u to visit Kedarnath, since u have cleared my confusion on the Black stone in Mecca.

Pl don't "seize" Almighty!!!!!!!!! The correct word is "cease" . There is a vast difference in the meaning of both words. I have no quarrel with the blievers but confine that to your house or the place/s of worship. Don't bring religion and god/gods on to the streets.

Pl read the book "The Secret" to understand the reason for that effect. It has nothing to do with any "god" That was the power of your mind!!!!!!
