As I mentioned before the whole thing has become political with so many names being dragged into. Dr.Sen has been accused as naxalite/maoist etc etc.People who are making the comments do not have a clue as to how it is to work in the tribal areas as doctor. I speak from personal experience. In many of our states(I am delibrately not mentioning the states) where there are tribal population it is pathetic to see how they have been abused.In one of the areas I worked I watched with helplessness as the locals have been exploited by buisenessmen and other organisations. A basket of fruits were brought for Rs.2 from these people and were sold for Rs.50 or more. You dare not speak against any one as you would be targetted and be branded as an extremist/ maoist/ naxalite.You just remain a mute spectator.The dynamics in these localities are very different from what we see in cities.Dr.Sen has been a pediatrician serving these people.I appeal to all to look at him as an example of someone who shunned lucrative opportunities and continued to serve the people. Just look at what he has done in these areas. Yes people are accusing him as a maoist etc. But he is not guilty till proven and the government has not proved it for more then one year.The tragedy is that it has now become a political issue and a case of one man upmanship. There is also a journalist who has been detained under the same laws. This is no different from Gm bay. Our voice is against illegal detention without conviction.

How is the detention illegal? The case is going on in the court. Sen and his stooges tried for bail but it was rejected by the honorable court. Message to all naxal sympathizers- Respect the verdict of the court and stop whining.

You proved that you are Punjabi...who along with this generation Sardars even dont know or care about revolution which happened in Punjab also. Naxalites and Mayoists are different groups... their ideologies sometimes matches as they both talk about social reform across India. Before independence the words 'social reform' was pertinent which is true even after 60 yrs of independence as half of our own country men live in poverty and live a disgraced, tortured, abused, looted life in streets, slums, villages, and tribal areas. We dont care about them, nor any government or the machineries. And when someone of us (dont know who transforms them from cowardly beasts like us to real human being) rise from the masses and sacrifice their heart and soul for the neglected hatred, unattended that part of our society, we pelt stones at them, use all our mercinaries to hit them hard,and if thats not enough and if they still survive the bit of strength and courage to continue, we use government controlled machineries to lock them without trial and bit them to death. But we forget a bitter fact they are fighting for us (yes!) they are trying to improve life our ur brothers and sisters whose social uplifting can remove the curse of being a citizen of a developing nation. still been seen by the outside world as people of developing nation no matter how much we progress in science and technology and business. I feel sorry for you...

Jayanta, Dont say things you know little about? If i or anybody is 'wronged' by the state, it should not be a reason to pick up a gun and kill innocent men, women and kids. Naxalism, social reform wallahs and all leftisms are a menace to the mankind and need to be eradicated, whether you like it or not?
Japjit, time and again you are trying hard to link Dr. Sen to Naxals and trying circular logic.
None in this thread are supporting Naxals or their violence.
we are ONLY saying Dr. Sen is NOT A NAXAL and he is falsely implicated because he stood up Human rights of Tribals against state oppression through Salwa Judum.

Prem sir, finally you get it but partially. It is the court which has to decide whether Sen is a closet naxal, full blooded naxal or a superman NOT rediff message boarders. Respect the law of the land.
Lastly, when you say, "we are ONLY saying Dr. Sen is NOT A NAXAL"...who is WE?
