Given some exceptions like Vajpayeeji and MMS, most of the leaders are on the path of making irreperable damage to the country by their obnoxious demands and tantrums. The world has neither the time nor the patience just because we have market potential.
We contniue our theory of appeasement whether it is political allies or next door China. That is counter productive and eventually leads to conflicts.
If we truly want to leverage our growth, leadership has to evolve. To one of stern yet fair of liberal yet balanced with conservatism.
I am afraid with guys like Karat, Pawar, Amar Singh in fore, we dont have much of a future.
Thats a fact. We need leaders like Abdul Kalam and Vajpayee, but hope fully younger versions.

we certainly can do without vajpayee. He was an expert in "musing"! always used to say something obnoxious and then back tracked... Never a man of his words... We need people like APJ, MMS, PC...
