If officers think that soldiers give their lives for them, they must be in dreamland. No one sacrifices lives for a superior officer and its dangerous for them to think so. The only reason for anyone to give up their lives is for the country, or their comrades. Some in our officer cadre are probably one of the most feudal in the world, thinking nothing of using soldiers or "other ranks" for menial jobs in their homes. They need to wake up and realize that it's now the 21st Century and learn from armies in other democratic countries.
