major part of the budget is for the defence only. Then what's the problem to pay higher salary to the army officer? The present situation is that instead of only physical strength it is the intelligent mind that must count more for the defence of our country. There should be no compromise in paying the salary as per the excellence as it is the matter of our security.-- praful

What is the source of ur information on budgetary allocations? It is grossly incorrect. Please have correct info before making such statement. And, please also bother to compare budget and proportion of the same on armed forces/police forces vis-a-vis other nations, including that of developed nations. See where do we stand.
