The army people have several opportunities to get bribed or act corruupt. That's why they don't need to get a pay hike.

I really didnt understand what you meant when you said that the army has several opportunities. What are you talking about? All corruption happens at the level of the politicians. The army does not decide finally which equipment and which weapon to buy, it is the politician with his crooked ways who doesnt mind buying a slightly inferior product as long as the "money" is right. The army has till date been the least corrupt of all services in this country and stop maligning something about which you have absolutely no knowledge about

Kayaron ke paas iske alawa or bhi bahane hote hai..jaise mere pet me har teesare din dard uthata hai, isliye me army join nahi kar sakata. Ya phir, main apne mammi-papa ki iklauti santan hoon, we mujhe army join karne ke liye mana karte hai..etc etc. Rohit aise kuch bahane bana na..bribery baad main chalega.

This is utter nonsense. Is there any walk of life or area where opportunities for corruption do not exist. Your political establishment is the most corrupt.

They are like those beauty queens who talk about social service during the contests. These kids are like any kids who join a new Job.They are so naive .Somehow they have been brainwashed into thinking that only they work for the country. This is dangerous as they will develop contempt for civilians. They indeed work for the country...but so do millions of people working in other fields. Dont doctors/engineers/software techies/lawyers work for the country whether directly or indirectly ?
Anyway Everybody ends up compromising after few years of service. Have you heard of the Generals siphoning off funds meant for buying Dal Chawal for soldiers. So please let's not be holier than thou.
Anyway the idea of an agressive army is of little relevance when we have infiltration of Bangladeshis by the millions. Can we stop that ? Did we do anything when BSF personnel were killed by the Bangladesh Rifles ? Having only a strong army is not the way to development anyway as Japan has proved. Development comes from a strong economy. If the economy is not strong from where will the govt. get money for defence expenditure.Anyway these kids will grow up, opt for voluntary retirement & join the corporate sector in another 10-12 years like the army officers are doing now. Guaranteed.

Yes there are several opportunities. But it is everywhere. Only due to Offical Secert Act things don't come out. But this does not mean that we don't need this establishment and not every person is same.
