With all due respects to the Indian Armed Forces management, its impossible to belive that there is a shortage of officers. I think the Indian establishment still depends on the cadets shown in the article above but with todays time, why cant the Army go to the CAMPUS and advertise themselves. I am pretty sure they can get their officers, infact more than what they have now.
There are many people waiting there to find the LAKSHYA, if the army goes to them, it will be the best thing.

well the problem is that most civilians or people raised in civilian background are not able to clear the services selection board interviews because they are simply not having the personality traits to become an officer.

Not like everyone who is working in corporate world don't dream about serving the nation by joining armed forces..I applied for Naval college of engineering and had my SSB interview in lonavala.. But only one guy was selected from our batch of 96 students though i felt i was seriously good enough to be in the top 10... Sometimes you need to be the best... now iam a software engineer,but i dearly miss being a naval officer.. Long live these brave men.... JAI HIND....
