Corruption in Army is hurts me a lot as I belongs to the area where every family have at least a defense personal. Corruption is army can not be surfaces due to discipline. But there are lots of people who are not corrupt and there are there just to serve the nation. One of my relative tried hard to join the defense forces but in vain although his 3 brothers were already in army his father and forefather etc all were in army. So being from army back ground does not help him. Now he is in a multinational bank and earning a handsome amount. But still he misses army.

>> Well said son. I am a retired Army Officer and I can vouch for it without any reservation. Stary-eyed patriotic young lads, full of nationalistic fervour after few years in Service realise that Army too like Civil Service is a den of corruption, particularly at the top. There are Generals and other officers of high rank who blantantly used Army funds (Public Money) to dig swimming pools in their houses, send parties to Himachal to procure choicest apples for their wifes etc. Most atrocious things have been done in the Army but kept under tight wraps in the name of discipline!!. Many youngsters after few years realise this and become dejected that they have sacrificed their lives for an illusionary and undemocratic way of life. I am not advocating youngsters to take up jobs in MNCs but only reminding them about the pitfalls they may face in their career. Even Promotions are stage-managed. If you are thick-skinned and comfortable with corruption Services is a good career. Otherwise you are well-advised to look for a civil employement.
