Why Telangana?
by secret secret on Jan 24, 2008 05:01 PM   Permalink

Telangana is developing much more than any other area of AP now. KCR knows he cannot use the under-development platform, so he uses the self-respect platform now.

The truth is, KCR wants Telangana so he can become CM (even if by remote control) and go down in history as the father of Telangana. And other leaders who are increasingly clamouring for it want it since they belong to that area, and if the TRS gets the state, then they will never get elected for not taking a stance for separate statehood.

I would not have a problem with Telangana if it indeed deserved it - the movement was however born because KCR was disenchanted with not being given enough power in the TDP, and broke out in search of more power.

And he is a rabid power-monger - just look at all allegations of money-laundering against him. He started a fast-to-death, and called it off in a day. Compare that to Potti Sriramulu, who died for Andhra. People die when they believe in the cause. KCR sees no point in dying for Telangana - he wants power, not the state.

Finally, again - is there a single reason for its creation?
