that's because people from the Hindi belt think that non-Hindi speakers are anti-national and anti-Indians

this is not true. Just like you are generalising, a few 'typical' 'north indians' generalise about you but it is never about being anti-national.
In fact, i have seen more hatred for northies in west and south than the other way round.

Milind, this is very short sighted of you. Any person who does not understand what the other is saying is bound to view him with distrust !
Probably we all need to communicate better as Indians. (North or South)
