No Truck With Pro-Imperialist BJP

THE BJP president, Rajnath Singh, has charged the Left parties with not being serious about their opposition to the nuclear deal. He has cited the unwillingness of the Left to join hands with the BJP on the issue to substantiate this charge.

The Left parties opposition to the nuclear cooperation agreement with the United States has been clearly spelt out from the outset in 2005. We do not share the views of the BJP on the matter, since their approach has been to bargain with the United States for a favourable nuclear adjustment while accepting the status of a subordinate ally of the US.

The six-year record of the BJP-led government was infamous for its kowtowing to the US. The Jaswant Singh-Strobe Talbot secret talks, the visit of L K Advani to the CIA headquarters and the eagerness of the NDA government to become a "natural ally" of the US to the extent of considering sending Indian troops to Iraq, will not be forgotten by the Indian people.

The CPI(M) is certain not to have any truck with such a pro-imperialist party.

Dear Mr.Sahadevan,

Deal with pro communist parties are ok? Given a choice, I would any day chose BJP to Congress-Communist alliance. Communists are still living in cold war era. In a world of changed equations, one needs to understand one's priorities.

No one needs to trust US blindly or give into all their demands. But the nuclear deals must go through, with or without the left.

Certainly Mr. Sahadevan KK, and CPI(M) even cant think about it, because they are merely a regional party limited to Kerala & WB. No regional party can even dream to have any truck with USA or any pro-imperialist party in their wild dream. Just look at what these so called intellectuals from CPI(M) say in theri various statemetns by ignoring their own blunders (a good example of Jyoti Basu admitting CPI(M)'s decision for not considering his candidature for PM). They know that this is the only chance they got to taste the political power in Delhi, and that made them issuing such statemetns that no party is ready for mid term poll.
