Prince Charles, Heir to the British Monarchy in a recent public speech at Oxford University stated:
"If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world. It is a failure, which stems, I think, from the straight-jacketing of history, which we have inherited. The medieval Islamic world, from central Asia to the shores of the Atlantic, was a world where scholars and men of learning flourished. But because we have tended to see Islam as the enemy of the West, as an alien culture, society, and system of belief, we have tended to ignore or erase its great relevance to our own history."

hi.. nice thoughts from some good ppl posted above.. but one question arisies.. does allah or islam really says go and kill any one who dont follows islam ? at least that what 99% of Muslim Cleric seems to be preaching..Mr. Hakeem i would reality like know abut this. regards

There is basic misconception which leads to all the problem. The understanding of Islam of most of the People like you is not first hand information. People like you repeat the things which you might have heared somewhere or read somewhere. It is my sencier advice to all good people in this forum to firt understand the Islam by your own study then comment on it.
Islam respect all the human beings wheter it is Muslim or Non-Muslim. The Jews in Islamic Spain were having more rights and freedome then what they were having in Cristine Europe that time. Islam dose not allow any one to kill Because of its faith. It diffrencite mankind on the basis of good and evil. Only those who commit sin against Humanity are eligible for punishment.
Once agin I request you all good people to understand Islam yourself.

No misunderstanding illiterate , they interpreted rightly that is why they can't survive , Hindus Didnot interpret properly centuries ago and paying heavy price for it till now
