%u201CWhat Every Person Should Know About War%u201D by Chris Hedges

Narrated by Shaddad bin Aus: Allah's Messenger said, "A wise man is the one who calls himself to account (and refrains from doing evil deeds) and does noble deeds to benefit him after death; and the foolish person is the one who subdues himself to his temptations and desires and seeks from Allah the fulfillment of his vain desires."[At-Tirmidhi]

Prince Charles, Heir to the British Monarchy in a recent public speech at Oxford University stated:

"If there is much misunderstanding in the West about the nature of Islam, there is also much ignorance about the debt our own culture and civilisation owe to the Islamic world. It is a failure, which stems, I think, from the straight-jacketing of history, which we have inherited. The medieval Islamic world, from central Asia to the shores of the Atlantic, was a world where scholars and men of learning flourished. But because we have tended to see Islam as the enemy of the West, as an alien culture, society, and system of belief, we have tended to ignore or erase its great relevance to our own history."

May Allah guide us all to the Straight Path, Aameen

well - I am sure quoting a moron like Prince Charles will not help your argument at all. You will not accepted till you get out of a religious frame and talk like a modern rational human being first...

Did you ever read Satanic Verses? I know you didnt. Your a typical zealot whose opinion about something or someone is based solely on the opinions of others and not on his or her own understanding and reading!

The book deals with different religions and he speaks a lot of your beloved hindu religion as well, a lot! |Chuckles|

The Satanic Verses are those verses which just one scholar of seerah of muhammad *pbuh* believed were once part of quran but were later deleted. They deal some gods of pagan arabs and their legitamacy or illegitamacy. Something very similer happened to the Isa ibn maryam *pbuh* as well is very well documented in christian traditions. However other seerahs of the prophet donot mention anything of this. And it is upto scholars to come to agree upon that. There is nothing more or less to it.

He didnot called the Quran by that name. Only those 3 verses were called satanic verses as it was believed these verses were uttered by the satans temptations, hence satanic verses!

While none of the quran and the muslim world has the oldest versions of the quran and these three verses are not part of this so rusdies claim was false. The matter is plainly this. But my muslim brothers as is well know get excited quickly, made mess of the issue w/o even understanding what it is about. Even the fatwa against him by an iranina cleric was recanted!
