It is not "Braqhminical Arrogance" but "Brahminical Ignorance". These so-called Brahmins who meted out this disgusting treatment to Ravi's family should read these: "He in whom good conduct is manifest, is a Brahmin and in whom this is absent, treat such as Shudra". Mahabharata III.180.27 "It is tapas(austerity and penance) which makes one a Brahmin and not his birth"-Srimad Bhagavatham
"Not study, not learning is the cause of Brahmin status. Conduct is the basis..." Mahabharata III.312.106

Very true. Ignorance is the right word. Karma is what decides whether a person is a Brahmin (an enlightened one) or not. Looking at it otherwise, Unni Krishnan is known to always go where his disciples call him. In hindi there is a saying "Man changa toh Katauti mein Ganga". Where the mind is pure and the call is from the heart, God is there. This has been proved over time. If the Guruvayur Devasvom and its priests behave "unbrahminly" they will reap the consequences. That is God's will.

Well Said!!! In essence, some of the learned people in today's world too say, Brahmin is an individual (male or female) who has achieved "Brahma Gnanam"(Enlightened). Brahma Gnanam is achieved usually by Yoga or penance. This does not mean that a person should run away from social obligation. Brahmins are not born by birth but surely by their deeds. Easier said than done.... "One needs to remove all the religions in this world to make it peaceful". Any comments?
