I think Ravi is looking at the entire episode from a totally negative point of view...He feels that he is (or was) untouchable and his wife is a christian, on their entry to the temple, the thanthri's conducted purification of the temple... It is wrong to state that the temple management came to know about the religion of Ravi's wife after the feeding ceremony....Ravi himself mentioned that he is in public life for the last 50 years, in that case, certain most of the people would know that his wife is a christian (including the temple management). Even after knowing that, since he is a hindu believer, the temple allowed him to conduct the feeding ceremony of his grandson (even his son's marriage). Having fullfilled his wish and faith, if the temple has followed the consequent rituals (being followed for decades), what is wrong in that. If the temple management and or thanthri's were arrogant ( 'brahminical arrogance' as per Ravi), then they would not have even allowed Ravi's grand son's feeding ceremony inside the temple (and earlier his son's marriage)...
Many a temples, not only in Kerala, several parts of the country, follows certain traditions, faiths, rituals and certain procedures for immemorial years and challenging or stopping these activities would adversely effect the faith and believes of the devotees.
A pure devotee should not bother about how the temple conducts and its procedures, but, to abide by the rules set by every temples for that matte

DOn;t follow ideologiocal religions, churchians bind people to churches and use it for politics. If this aspect won;t be there, then it is okay to have pvt temples.

arjun... so long as we depend on brahmins to conduct the temple affairs and religious affairs, we will have to respect their beliefs and faith...
If there is a temple which restricts brahmins, well and good, they will not even think of coming there... wherever there are brhmins that place itself is equivlent to temple - because they create the religious environment..
khajuraho, elephanta etc. also has idols of Gods, but you visit there for tourism purpose and not for doing puja or worship..right...
religious and devotional environment is always created (with or with idols) and that is what the Brahmins do..for the benefit of others beliefsand faith in God..
Believe in brahminism is equivalent to believing in God

arjun... you are undoubtedly correct... all human beings are equal... certain groups of people beliefe in certain Gods whether it is Allah, Yesu or Krishna and take to their own path of worship or follow religion. In every religion, there are customs and rules to follow the faith. Hinduism is a way of life and not a religion..people to take to this way of life has to follow the procedure, customs, beliefs and restrictions...since there is a particular section within Hindu who are being provided with the responsibility of taking care of the temples, rituals, ceremonies and other religious activities, who are called the Brahmins. when other people within the Hinduism followers believes in them doing the ceremonies or temple rituals, it is the disciple and responsibility of people/devotees that they follow the principles and guidelines practices by the Brahmins...
Would we be able to do away with Brahmins in temples and any religious ceremonies...if we are able to achieve that, then we don't have to bother about the customs and procedures set forth by them...
