Mandirs for devotees or tourists?
by sunilgiri on Jun 04, 2007 11:41 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

So...
Mandir is literally god%u2019s palace; it is built according to shastric specifications, and once the images are consecrated it means the gods have accepted the invitation to reside in the respective temples. This is what gave temples their power and sanctity in all ancient traditions.

Temple entry cannot be a secular right of non-believers. It is a privilege of the believer, and that is why truly reform-minded Hindus in previous centuries fought for the right of underprivileged believers. like Harijans (Dalits), to enter temples. This is an issue to which Hindu society urgently needs to rededicate itself.

If you believe in God - atleast believe that God is beyond religions.

It should be left to the non-believer to make the decision of not entering a place of worship%u2026 and not the other way around%u2026

Nice saying.

However, Are you upholding it yourself? Judging by the venom you are spewing around, probably not.

@sanjay...

For starters, those who say "our god is true, your god is false" aren't the harbingers of any religion....let alone Christianity. There are betters harbingers for most religions. Look at them....not at some missionary who says ...."Our god is true, your god is false".....

Despite the troubled history of America, USA is by far the best place to live in terms of commitment to its citizens of various faiths in enforcing Law&Order for all. The fact that Hinduism has grown the most in USA outside of India, is testament to that.

You need to see your torn dosa instead of counting the holes in others dosa.

First try to fix up your mind. Its the people in india who break up hindus and divide among yourselves. Not christians.

Non of the christians want people who talk filth or call others as lesser humans. Everyman is equal under the creator. When you being a learnt human be so stupid why wont the country go to dogs.

Go and change your mindset and be more human.

We all know the message of love Christianity gave to Red Indians, African Blacks and aboriginies of Australia. Same love you have for Hindus.
This is the same message the brahmanas gave the dalits when they took away every thing from them!
