Vayalar ravi,

Did your wife enter Guruvayur temple? Are you hiding facts. If she entered Punyaham is alright, because we don't want any Christian to enter before he/she converts to Hinduism.

Rajan... as far as my limited knowledge about Hinduism goes, there is no procedure/formalities by which a person belonging to another religion could be converted to Hinduism....

Have you ever heard of anybody converting to Hinduism.. I have heard of people converting FROM hinduism to other religions....because other religions are surviving only because of people converting from Hinduism...which is always an overflowing vessel...

Dear Brahman, there are 4 centers in Kerala(3 in the capial city Thiruvanantapuram and one in Kozhikode) where any person can return to Hindu fold by following a certain ritual.I believe it is OK as 99% of Kerala Hindus and 95% of Kerala Muslims were once Hindus.

Sankalp - those centers do not go by any vedic teachings or ceremoneys which describes conversion to Hinduism... Hinduism is a way of life and not a religion and hence converting out of Hiduism and converting in to Hinduism does not .... it is always said that converted in to Isalm or in to christianity (not converted from Hinduism). Those centers are created only to facilitate (or to counter conversion to other religions) a person who wants to come back (RETURN) to Hinduism..

Have you heard about a Christian or a Muslim getting converted to Hinduism in those centers?

Brahman,

A person named Francis, or Joseph cannot claim that he believes in Hindusim. If he believes in Hindusim, he should rename himself with some Hindu name, remove his cross etc. EVeryman is born as Hindu and there is no particular formalities/ or procedure to become Hindu. But Hindus would atlease expect that when somebody claims to b e a HIndu beliver, he will himself change his name acordingly.

Babu
