Please note that verdict does not say that Karnataka should release 419 TMC to TN. It only says that TN should get 419 TMC out of total of 740 TMC available in Cauvery. For TN to get 419 TMC, Karnataka needs to release only 192 TMC. TN gets rest of water from Cauvery water capturing area in TN itself. This is 13 TMC less than tribunals' interim award of 205 TMC.
Out of 192 TMC that TN gets from Karnataka, it has to release 30 TMC to Kerala and 7 TMC to Pondicherry.
So, unlike the media projects, verdict is not against Karnataka. It is more or less in line with interim verdict only.
Infact karnataka get more share than TN. Understand the reality..

so whatcha tellin me is, during a dry season, no matter what TN shud be getting 419tmcft? even if there isnt a grey cloud in sight on top of KAR? cauvery flows equally in both the states. TN has acatchment area of its own which is regualrly feeded by he monsoons. So apart from that TN demands another 192 tmcft regularly and if its catchment area does not have enough, fill it up with KAR's share, disregarding KAR's farmer's suicides. illogical and absurd.
if we pay for ur electricity...u pay for our water!!
r u sharing the revenues that you are getting from the madras port or for that matter tirupati devasthana. ur absurd logic of 'just because a river is born in the state, it does not give any rights to the state', is kind of skewed, considering tirupati devasthana.
