Peopl are mindlessly churning out HATRED on such forums without thinking that they are well educated and well qualified.
The news item is about security of B'lore but why most people are accusing North Indians and Hindi language ??
It baffles me ... After 60 years of Independence, we still don't have even 10% feelings for our brothers across the states ?
We don't need Islamic terrorists to bomb us. We will do that ourselves.
Osama Bin Laden has rightly said; "Al Qaida should not waste its money & resources on India becoz the leaders of India themselves will help us in disintegrating India". Thats how he wants to achieve pan-islamic state from Morocco to Indonesia.
So, please think about what outside world is expecting us to do !!

I salute your tolerance ...(almost spat on a person who spoke Hindi at Ooty).
This shows your stupidity. Ooty is a tourist place & people from all states visit it. If the person talking doesn't know english & if he is a North Indian, what are his options of communicating ?
Have you ever moved out of your state TN ? Had you worked for few years elsewhere in India, I bet you will not have the same level of intolerance for others. That may be the reason for your hatred of Hindi probably !

that's the thing...travelling opens the mind. India is a lovely country. Every nook and corner belongs to all of us. Cauvey never discriminates between a Kannadiga or Tamilian.
We should work hard with full cooperation to make it a top nation, instead of fighting on useless and pity issues.

Link to the Official Languages Act in 1967 in a government website. It clearly states that in non-hindi speaking states English will be the medium of communication along with the local language. I respect Hindi... but this is just for ur clarification. http://www.rajbhasha.gov.in/dolacteng.htm

Mr. Anand if you don't feel any need to learn hindi then why should a person from North India will show interest in learning any of south indian language.
A person who is needy will learn it. And "Bhaiiya" means elder brother.Similar to "Anna" in tamil. You yourself is giving respect to north indians.
There is only one entity "INDIA". nothing south ,north , east or west in it.....

Let's stop the discussion on Abhinav's positive note. I'm a kannadiga and I think we should learn the language of the place where we live. Like the old saying - Be a Roman in Rome. You will only ease tensions when we try and learn the local traditions, cultures and languages. Be an Indian. Imagine if a foreigner read this debate... he'll think we're crazy to fight like this among ourselves. Be united folks... live, tolerate and learn!

We dont have any guts. We forced central governmnet to declare English as the only official language of India and we have banished Hindi from TN . If it were not for us India would have become like China - single language. Read the history of anti Hindi war in Tamil nadu

Dude, Tamil Nadu acts like it is not a part of India at all. Most people from other parts can speak at least a smattering of Hindi. Tamil is an outdated, archaic language with little literature. Look at the gnanpith list and see for yourself. A language does not grow by throwing out words from other languages. Learn from English, the one that you hold more dear than your own mother tongue.

It is your mistake buddy.You have made a language which is not from INDIA , the official language of India.
There is nothing wrong in learning a language. A person who will go to Japan will learn japanese, it is because he needs it.
You know every person in India just cares about giving a happy life to his family. People work hard to earn their livings. They leave their family and travel distances.
Whether north indians or south indians they don't want to leave their respective places.But they have to . I hope you undersatnd what I want to say
