It is now upto investigators to find out the truth in this matter.
If Haneef is indeed proved to have had links with terror outfits, it will put a big black mark on our credibility as a nation. The international community will look upon us as a rogue state helping and sympathising with terrorists, a la Pakistan. This can even have an impact on the companies considering to open shop here. One need only look at the haste and enthusiasm shown by our establishment to help him out in Oz. Our PM even went to the extent of losing sleep over his plight and openly declaring it.
Elements like these are bringing disrepute to peace-loving members of their own community. If our establishment boasts of being secular they should come hard against these rogue elements and root out this evil for the safety of everyone. The Indian government should address this disease and the only pill is radical action.

Mr. SK, what credibility are you talking about; we did not have anything in the first place. We have a CM in Tamil Nadu whomade special ayurvedic treatment available at Govt.'s cost to Madani in Coimbatore prison and also allowed his wifewho herself had a dozen cases pending against her!) to stay attend on him.
POTA was scrapped ass soon as the UPA came to power in May 2004.
All political parties wanted clemency for Afzal.
Karnataka CM offers a Chief Surgeon's job for a terrorist accomplice who was given a hero's welcome.
Shameless Manmohan wanted Australian authorities to treat his case with kid gloves like his Govt. has been doing!
This is India, the soft state absolutely safe for all types of terrorists!
