Overall, it appears that Haneef is not all that innocent. He may not be directly involved with the failed London Plot, but it appears that he was knowing the persons who were actually involved and was aware of their activities.
The Australians have ,smartly, passed the buck to the Indian Government, by deporting him to India since he did not commit any crime in Australia. If more evidence is found against him, it will be Indian government's headache to deal with UK, including extradition.
Haneef, if he is guilty, should not be complascent that he has escaped the law. His troubles are just starting(if he is guilty).

Yes you are right. But with recent events like acquittal of Madani and other terrorists it is quite unlikely that Indian govt would do anything concrete against Haneef.

This guy could be one of those sleeper cell members who go much in advance to a country for surveillance and lie low until 'Action' takes place. It is ok that the Aussies police dont have enough evidence to directly link him to any terrorist activities.
