While financial crimes should only be punished financially, the problem with such big financial bunglings (like the earlier chit fund cases or even the US subprime foolishness) is the impact on a large number of employees and their dependents. Therefore, such crimes are actually bigger than how they appear.

This could not have gone on without support from at least some auditors and regulators in Government. Punish all of them, not just the scape goat.
Every day, it's likely that some evidence is being erased silently.
