I fully support upgrading few of the existing REC to IIT levels. Infact I feel we should open a small percentage of seats to foregn nationals and collect hefty amount on those seats that will not only help to finance some research activity but will also increase foregn reserves.

For your kind information there used to few seats reserved for the NRI students in all the IIT's till last year.But it has been stoped from this year because some of them were struggling to maintain pace with the vast course of IIT and competting with the other students who come through JEE.

i deeply regrett your thinking of not apritiating the best idea of upgrading the NITs to the IITs ,as we r devoloping country so we must require more & more good i.e. the best engg. i mean to say. how u have said that only IITians are the best only we can also perform like that if we will get facilities like that ,the development of any human being will depend's on the environment providede to him.i m a student of 2nd year B.TECH from NIT-NAGPUR,& i wouid like to ask u a question that why u have gone to US ? after thinking to this question will divert ur mind to other side i think so,
so, i think that if more & more IITIs were benifitt more indian brains.so u must think possitive & progressive respect to our country ,we r indians!!!
