Actually we had only 6 IITs. Some two years back they added one more i.e. Roorkee. If we go on adding the number of IITs then the quality of IITs will sure be coiming down. IITs are ranked one of the best institutions available throughout the world. We should not risk the quality of IIts at any cost. In fact very recently Govt., wanted to dismandle the under-graduate programmes in IITs which was opposed by all learned persons in this country. Then only the govt intorduced NIT.
In my openion we should not allow the govt to increase the number of IITs.
