Its quality, not quantity that matters.

Increasing the number of IITs only erodes the brand value that IIT has painstakingly created over decades. The outstanding performance of IITians globally - in industry and academia - will be undermined, by rechristening other universities as IITs.

What are we trying to do by increasing the number of IITs?- create an assembly line production of top-class engineers? I'm sorry, thats not the way knowledge is imparted.

The focus should be on upgrading the facilities and infrastructure in other collges, so that their students can compete on their own merit - and then, there is no need to rename them anyway - for whats in a name? Wouldn't the rose smell just as sweet if called by any other name?

what we are trying to do is to rename all flowers as roses, and hope that they all smell the same!!

Isn't that ridiculous?!!!

hv u ever considered abt JEE & the brains who just could'nt make it. do u know JEE is a process which makes only abt 3-4 percent final selection. what about people falling in that 5th% ? don't they deserve that extraordinary infrastructure?
