Having IIT facility in all colleges is good
by ramani on Oct 18, 2003 10:53 PM   Permalink

Hi !

Having the facilities which IIT has, to be present in more colleges is good.

i am student of IIT. And I wish to say just two things.

1. IIT professors have no time to guide PhD students. Hence even if number of IITs are increased, please take out the PhD programme from IITs. Professors are just not able to handle PhD programmes.

2. As students go through evaluation regularly, let Professors too have some evaluation scheme, such that those who are not able to manage work due to some reasons, are not given load. This will help both them as well as students. Students in IITs badly suffer due to the Professor's badly managing their work and time.

My own experience (as well as most of my colleages and seniros and juniors) is that teachers in colleges other than IITs are much much more sincere and dedicated than teachers in IITs.

Facilities (lab, internet and library) in IITs is the only thing which helps a student work well.

Most of the Professors have no idea what they want in life. Instead of having student's wellwishing as one of their aims, only aim of them is to get fame and money.
