Who is the real Guru
by S Venkatesh on Jul 07, 2009 10:19 AM   Permalink

On this Guru Pournima day,(Vyaasa Poornima) I pay respect (as I do always) to my Grandmother who taught me everything in life. Till 4 years I was crawling as I was born prematurely and with her utmost care and medicines (50 years back) what I am today. The Alopathy and Ayurvedic doctors said I will never be able to walk and she took it as a challenge and with ayurvedic oil and natural medicines (such as jackfruit leaves water kept on sunlight - todays solar energy - etc. She taught me what is good and what is bad, to respect elders, especially parents. Even though she was very orthodox, and an illiterate who became widow at the age of 17 - she used to tell me to love the poor and to think of becoming rich to help poor people. I believe in God and the Gurus ... Guru Raghavendra, Shirdi Saibaba and Swami Smarth are my Guru after my grandmother and I have no faith in the Living Human beings who claims they are incarnation of GOD. This is my view and I never interfere if someone wants to believe and I never object as it is up to them. SO ON THIS DAY I DO GIVE RESPECT TO ELDERS AND MY SAHASRA KODI PRANAMS TO MY DEAR PATTI AMMA (GRANDMOTHER). I WILL NEVER EVER FORGET MY TEACHER OF FIRST STANDARD WHOM I STILL REMEMBER AFTER FIVE DECADES.
