street food outside Shivajinagar RS Pune
by JM on Jul 21, 2006 05:41 PM   Permalink

Zhatka Bhel at one end of the station foyer - made by a kindly man who has a tremor in his hand, hence the name (not kidding!). Rs. 7 for pure bhel bliss in the evening. Commuters line up early so as to get the bhel before the local train comes in.

Shabeer's Anda Bhurji cart - outside the Shivajinagar ST bus station entry for buses. Rs. 18 for a double bhurji is a fast foodie's idea of pure paradise. He has fans from all over - mostly students who romped in Pune late at night searching for good food after a ride 'round town.

more to come - Kutchi dabeli, and of course, Misal Pav
