Its not about the bike!
by Ajay on Aug 28, 2006 06:15 PM   Permalink

What are the extremes of human resistance? How much suffering can one endure and still come out as a success? "Its not about the bike" - Lance Armstrong's story about his fight with cancer is an inspriational tale which tells us how he came to terms with the deadly disease and fought it with single minded objective: TO SURVIVE AND WIN. Doctor's gave him a 5% chance of survival, Still he defeats the disease and goes on to become the world champion cyclist who won the toughest "TOUR DE FRANCE" five times in succession. Compared to the odds Lance endured, the problems we face in our everyday life seem very normal and require only a little mental toughness to withstand. Lance's tale is an inspiration to anyone who aspires to be tough - mentally!
Another book which falls into the same category is "Papillon" by Henri Charriere.
