These calculations are really good. But ideally I feel Hyderabad really doesn't deserve to go the semifinals... They lost too many close matches.. They could have defeated Delhi but lost 7 wkts in 17 runs. They almost lost to KKR. They lost a winning match agst Kings XI twice. Bangalore deserves to go the semifinals along with Kings XI

In the above projection, Rajastan's loss/tie-break with Kolkata are identical. So, the probability to qualify for the semi-final is:

Chennai: 8/8 (100%)
Hyderabad: 5/8 (62.5%)
Bangalore: 5/8 (62.5%)
Punjab: 4/8 (50%)
Rajastan: 2/8 (25%)

Based on the above probability percentage, semi-final would be:

Delhi Vs Bangalore (1 Vs 4)
Chennai Vs Hyderabad (2 Vs 3)

Again, this is based on probability...

I think you have to work out your cases. You wont have bangalore and hyderabad both in the game. Only one of them will proceed ahead.

Abhinav,

Bangalore & Hyderabad can enter together to the semi-final in only 2 cases below:

Rajastan loses/tie with Kolkata
1) and Chennai wins & Hyderabad wins - Chennai 17, Hyderabad 16, Bangalore 14 (out Punjab 14, Rajastan 13)
2) and Chennai wins & Hyderabad loses - Chennai 17, Bangalore 16, Hyderabad 14 (out Punjab 14, Rajastan 13

Case# 1 - Hyderabad will have 16 points and Bangalore 14. Since Bangalore has high runrate than Punjab "at the momemnt", Bangalore will go to the semi-final. Similar work out in case# 2 too.

As par the point table analysis, rajasthan can qualify only when they win against kkr and chennai also wins, otherwise no hope for rajasthan

confirmed semi finalist is delhi tats correct, between banglore and hyderabad whoever wins will qualify, going to be very cut throat match,if chennai losses, punjab wil qualify but there will be clash between chennai and rajshthan in points ,assuming rajasthan wins.chennai has upper hand in runrate so will qualify.if chennai wins ,punjab out door open for rajasthan in semis.....
