this not end of Fab 4, first of all there wasnt any fab 4 in TEST Cricket for India. It can be Fab 2 or Fab 3 counting Sachin, Dravid and Laxman as these were the main batsmen who have scored against the best at a very good average, namely Australia. But Sachin and Dravid are way above with 10 thousand runs in both forms of the game.
As of now Fab 1 of Bengal has announced his retirement that too realising that the selectors had announced team for only 2 Tests. Now the Fab 1 local great of bengal knows he will be selected for the entire series.
But i hope that selection for team happens on performance and not on emotions and if a batsmen scores a You Cant Drop me useless 40 or 50, or averages 28/29, he should be sacked after the 2 tests.

Agreed Mr Mitra...this can happen only in India...if ganguly would have born in countries like Austrelia he would have been given more honor for his heroics.....in India there are lot of brainless donkeys like Sameer k, who not only have guts to accept the truth...but also have lack of understanding of cricket itself....who thinks everyone will score hundred in evry match...

As long as Ganguly was not declaring a retirement he was a burden for the team and needed to pulled.. Now that the warrior has decided to call it quits gracefully some people like Sameer K will still try to pull him down one last time.. Fact of the matter is Ganguly has been a stupendous achiever at the international level for a considerable period of time. That he has changed the face of Indian cricket as a leader often overshadows his exploits with the willow.. But statistics show that Ganguly is only 2nd to Sachin in terms of the number of ODIs he has single-handedly won for India.. Request people like Sameer K to rise above regional bias and salute a sportsperson as he signs off with dignity!
