Push all the good men out
by sanjeev nair on Oct 07, 2008 05:50 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The media and "know-all" among the public are out to push out the best cricketers that the country has ever produced. If the trend continues maybe Dravid, Tendulkar, Lakshman and Kumble may also retire soon. That would be the end of the good performance by India in test matches. Where are the replacements? A Rohit Sharma, who has two centuries in first class cricket? A Yuvaraj Singh, who has got 23 test matches so far and still hasn't done any thing of worth, Mohd Kaif? Just because the youngsters won a 20-20 world cup, it doesn't make them great cricketers. May be we have a good keeper in Dhoni, a few good young medium pacers, but none of the "YounG and upcoming" batsmen can even today can match the so called "poor performance" of the seniors. Where is the leggie to replace Kumble?? Just see how they performed against a New Zealand A team in India - 100 all out!! Imagine what the same bunch would do in New Zealand?!
