His performance with the bat may not be anything to write about of late, but his captaincy turned the image and attitude of the Indian team around. Call him brash or arrogant, he put his opponents, especially the Aussies in their place. He showed the way to counter the aggression of the Aussies on the field and the team was never the same again.
Can one imagine the older generation of Indian players standing up the the bullying by the Aussies?
He has made a positive contribution to Indian cricket and let us celebrate that, instead of criticizing him for all his shortcomings, especially since he will be gone shortly.
