When you talk about Godhra please look at all previous incidents. Congress ruled Gujarat for a long time. How many riots had happened? What was Congress response to them?
I stayed in Ahmedabad during that time & witnessed them first hand. Congress even provided government Machinary to minorities in order to crush Hindus. Lot of local minorities were against it,then they(congress) brought more people from the other states.
The result was obvious. People got tiered of it & brough BJP to power. Of course leaders on the otherside did not give up their arrogance. They tried to teach majority a lesson, they did Godhra. And of course oppressed (for long time) people reacted swiftly.
Out of 1000 reported killings during riots, 40% (400) were Hindus. If Hindus are bad & violent, not so many of them would have died. Some even died protecting minority communities.
The Credit goes to people of Gujarat & Modi. When the otherside tried new incident at Akshardham people tolerated it quietly for the sake of peace.
