Nehru and Tibet
by murli nair on Mar 25, 2008 09:22 PM

though he considered himself as the last Englishman, Nehru was the garden variety Indian, a mungeri lal with haseen sapne. He was no match for the Chinese with their hard nosed reality and National pride. Nehru was a pompous, vainglorius man, who mistakenly thought the whole world looked upon him with admiration ! The shock of finding out that they regarded him mainly with amused contempt broke him. But all said and done, he was at least a democrat and scholar, more than can be said of the present lot of lawmakers with charges of rape and murder against them.
