1. I don't have any connections to find and speak with Jindal's parents .... besides, I have no desire or see any commanality of interest with them old people.
2. Switching mom's is different. Even though Lord Krishna had two mothers ... he did not mean disrespect to his biological mother.
Adopting religion is different. You and I folow Hinduism because we were born that way .. we never applied our mind to anything out there which can be better for us ... it's personal ... Jindal found his place in catholisism and he joined them ...
