Political parties are instruments to serve the nation and leaders are made to fulfill those objectives. There was a time when these basic premises were considered with utmost sincerity, now NATION IS OUT OF POLITICAL AGENDA. SEE THE PLIGHT OF SOMNATH CHATTERJEE WHO WANTED TO UPHOLD THE PRESTIGE OF HIS OFFICE, THROWN OUT OF THE PARTY BY A COTERIE WHO NEVER WON AN ELECTION. Such leaders are born everyday in all political parties, leaders are being engineered, cloned as per needs of the party, not nation. What could be the possible fall out ? After long interval someone like Omar Abdullah spoke like an Indian. Good job. Most of the leaders are dependent on the party to meet up their lavish expenses. Many of them made huge palatial houses, garnered enough bank balance in foreign a/c, put up soft faces to manage their business. There are certainly exceptions who strictly adhere to value system and they are small in number, these guys should join hands together across party lines through various platforms, may be informal ones but should be assertive enough to be heard. Immediately, a meeting should be convened By THE PRESIDENT to call the military chiefs, CJSC sc, PM n sr cabinet members, leader of opposition and national parties and ask them to work together. At the time of emerging needs President needs to transcend constitutional barriers and her voice be heard. So far she is doing a good job, tried to remain free of controversies and earned a respectability across party lines.
