After a couple of shameful incidents witnessed by Assam, notably during the procession and the aftermath, it is very heartning to note that our Assamese brothers showed their good side and participated in Republic Day celebrations. It is unfortunate that the serenely beautiful northeastern state was allowed to be ravaged for decades and peace loving and kind hearted and friendly Assamese had to endure and participate in violent activities. Many misguided elements took this fight further and started divisive organizations. While it is good that our brothers have stoped paying heed to the unfair diktats issued by these organizations, the Govt. must ensure that there is no more infiltaration from Bangladesh. It is hoped that shamless pandering that goes on for supposedly gaining minority votes, which has led to a great imbalance of the demography of the state is stopped, and the illegal entrants are deported. I sincerely hope that all the people start living for India now.
