Honour above all
by venkat ramani on Jan 24, 2008 07:17 PM

There are Boys and there are men ! The MNC's and Corporates have snatched Lakhs of Men and women from being a soldier. The Army gives just one chance to serve the Nation which is a blessing not many get. I regret not being a Topgun Pilot ( GDP ) due to my poor eye sight but that couldn't deprive me of serving the Indian Air Force for 20 ( I won't say 'long' )dedicated and meritorious years as an Airman. Remember guys The Indian Army / Air Force / Navy pays you less, but, pays you longer. Life long. After you your family gets paid. If you wanna know what honour and pride is all about you need to ask Manvir Singh Son of Naib Subedar Chunni Lal. Nb Sub. Chunni Lal is to be awarded Ashok Chakra this Republic Day for his Bravery. He is already decorated with Vir Chakra and Sena Medal earlier for his valour. I think its like being given Bonus , increment or incentives cheques in corporate, to many out there. But ,believe me guys You can always get a corporate job after a career in the Army but never the other way. You only get a chance to serve you nation ONCE. I got it and I was lucky.I am proud I served the IAF as Airman.
