That's True And Needs To Be Avoided.
by poppins on Feb 14, 2008 06:07 PM

This is not just related to IT / BPO sector but also to low paying sectors like Civil Engineers working with real estate developers, Mechanical Engineers working in Fabrication shops and Automobile industries etc. The expectations of employers in Bangalore are sky high from their employees. Their expectations are similar as if they want to run a car on its full throttle for 24 x 7 without filling even a drop of fuel and they want these cars to run without maintenance, without rest and without any drop in speed. Such illogical expectations makes the working people strive exceedingly hard to retain their jobs. They slowly develop high stresses and are most prone to medical ailments. I remember my working days in Bangalore where I used to be at the work place from 7 AM till 12 PM. No sundays, no festivals, no holidays, no social life, and above all a very mediocre salary (which was never paid on time. That's why I left Bangalore and shifted to Chandigharh. Here I am having a much better work environment and a very highly respected social life.
