123 agreement and the Left parties
by Srinivasan Iyer on Sep 03, 2007 01:21 PM

This agreement has been discussed more than once in the Parliament. If the Left were interested in discussions they could have allowed the PM to speak in the LOk Sabha and debated on any question that they had. Instead they threatened to walk our of the 'marriage' and when they found public opinion against them on the basis of their objections being nothing but anti-americanism -- more ideological than on any principles-- they backed out to save themselves the embarrassment of public opinion. They do not mind if we are short of power in the rural areas without nuclear power as they can behave like champions of the poor! They have also opposed FDI in the Centre while they welcome foreign investment in West bengal/Kerala.
Mr Bardhan is now twisting facts because how did the Congress know the outcome of the opinion polls before they were taken to force an election! Mr manmohna Singh is not a political animal but purely interested in the developmnt of the nation -always!
