Mahatma did the biggest blunder of accepting the partition in the name of religion.
He did put the icing on the cake by allowing Muslims at that time to remain in INDIA making the reason for partition itself meaningless.
With that decision, mahatma himself destroyed all his good deeds. It is like breaking the pot of water at the entrance of house after carrying it all away from the well
